Why The World Won’t Get Better (And Maybe Shouldn’t) [Podcast]

Why The World Won't Get Better (And Maybe Shouldn't)

Why The World Won’t Get Better (And Maybe Shouldn’t)

This is an interesting (and controversial) discussion… Many of you may be thinking, “Isn’t making the world better the very point?”

There are many analogies I like to use to explain how maybe making the world better or having a perfect, peaceful world may not actually be the point.  First of all, lets look at how you define “better”.

The good news: the world can't give you anything. Even better news: the world can't take anything away. Click To Tweet

What is your idea of better?  This is the first thing you want to get clear on. What does better look like? What are the things and improvements that really matter in your own life and in the lives of others?Ultimately, those things in your life that you define as better will lead to more of a deeper, richer, more meaningful life.

For my full explanation, listen to the in-depth podcast on the subject, where I break it down and help you to apply this in your life TODAY. This will be a real game-changer.

To Your Emergence!

Stay inspired!

  • Walter says:

    Very ispiring message Derek.
Reminds me of my fellow Christians who want Christ to follow them rather than follow Christ.
God created a perfect world so it can’t get any better.
But it’s our task to keep striving to make ourselves better each & every day.
I keep beng confused when hear everyone refers to “at the end of the day……”
What about “at the start of the day….”
I get up every day ready to better myself with a simple mantra:
“I am whole & perfect, I am strong & powerful, I am loving & harmonious, I am grateful & joyous, I am who I am.”
The world is perfect but I need to get better each & every day.

Thank you Derek, I am listening. Thank you. I have to commit to a life, rather than running around in soul suffocating isolation, like a hungry ghost looking to get- from city to ropey coastal beach resort- as my brain and body atrophy through hotel dinners and nights spent near crying myself to solitary sleep in the shell of claustrophobic 4 star luxury.

There is an awareness that the love and joy is within- yet how to access- if a person is struggling for connection with self and others as once fertile relationships have withered.
to have the heart to begin lifting weights again……

if I have a key gifting then lugubrious writing would be it today ,
thank you for giving me the opportunity and of
    course for your wisdom teaching.

An expensive USM education to follow- I may have just found another pully as the hole in the boat widens- there are people who have taken third jobs to get there and I am preying to my dead father or an illusory village /Mindvalley guide for clarity direction and sense of family- having foolishly wasted past opportunity.

I am motivated to contribute and give more. Certainly before I leave. Good vibes, I have a great deal to be appreciative of. Surely I can become the person I was meant to be; not in a dramatic way but in a gentle open hearted sense.
    Thank you once again.

  • Daniel Sieff says:

I feel quite embarrassed about the above. I have to step out of the comfort zone and start living. I feel tired of this my actions have to change.

  • Daniel Sieff says:

I am very appreciative to have gotten in to USM. I just need to get on purpose. I really want to make a meaningful contribution. I really do.

  • Val Silver says:

Wow, the teachings you share in this podcast are profound and aligned with spiritual truth which you encapsulated in less than 45 minutes. Awesome, thank you. I am going to share this with my list.

  • This is so good, Derek! I have been thinking about these very things lately. You really explain such a profound concept with that fine “plainness,” as the saints describe it. So amazing! Easy to ingest. 🙂 Thank you for everything you do. <3

  • Marcella Lowell says:

My brother and I were having a similar conversation a few weeks ago, that although we humans are supposed to be evolving to a higher consciousness it really doesn’t seem to be happening. After seeing Apocalypto movie years ago and then the Bataan death march and aftermath in World WII, and ISIS, things don’t seem to have changed much. Just when you think we are getting better we hear some awful news about horrible actions, often by people who you would think you could trust. Still, we must keep working on ourselves. When I am able to take one of your programs, Derek, that I can pay for without increasing my zillion dollar credit card debt, I will. In the meantime I will avail myself of your free offerings, which are very helpful, re-reading your book and others’ books and believing that I WILL get out of where I am. Thank you!

  • John says:

So, the point is to not mind the pain, the lack, the problems — just endure, accept, and reach for better experiences of truth and love and joy right here and now. Thanks Derek. I keep hoping life will feel better today.

  • Sue Ziang says:

I have been listening to this message several times so far, over cooking, cleaning the house, literally feeling the bliss of cosmic high. Yes, freedom from non attachment to any outside source but the inner peace and the sense of oneness is the sure path to pure joy, even though it does not mean we don’t own any of them; as a matter of fact, we can own tons of everything as long as we don’t depend on them for our happiness. I am a health coach, and i am more and more realizing the truth that true healing originates from the center, even though vibrant young mind young body can help us stay centered and more focused to do what we love while we are being provided abundantly. What really makes challenges in our life not as stressing as it looks on the surface is this inner shift that they are here to facilitate more of us living through. When we have this awareness, many of the outward physical symptoms might simply disappear, and of course most of us would want to apply self-love self-care in all aspect of our life so we can have all the energy we need to live the life we yearn of living. Thank you so very much for your beautiful work Derek! Much love and gratitude, sue
